ASTM-F136 Ti6A14VELI also known as implant grade titanium l is a staple in our studio because it is the purest and safest metal used in body piercing. An allergy to pure titanium has not yet been proven. This is because the rough surface of titanium oxidizes when it comes in contact with oxygen and thus becomes passive. Oxidized titanium is no longer able to cause an allergy The implant grade titanium we use in piercings is an alloy, and the absolute smallest of impurities may be found in alloys, thus in extremely extremely rare incidents (none that we have ever seen or heard of) a slight intolerance can be found
